More origami plant pots

I made more plant pots this afternoon and I thought I would share how I do it.  As I mentioned in a previous post, I modified instructions I found online to make them a bit neater.

1. Start with a piece of newspaper, this is tabloid size.  Fold it in half from left to right.

2. Fold it in half from top to bottom.

3. Fold in half from left to right again

4. Fold the top right corner down (top layer only).

5. Turn it over and repeat on the other side

6. Unfold crease just made in step 5

7. Unfold top layer from bottom right hand corner

8. Squash flat

9. Turn the whole thing over

10. Unfold flap as in step 8 by lifting top layer from bottom right hand corner and squashing flat.

11. Fold the top left hand triangle over from left to right down the centre crease.

12. Turn whole thing over and repeat

13. Decide how wide you want the box to be, the distance from the centre crease to the fold shown below is half the width of the plant pot.

14. Fold the top point down to meet the edge folded over in step 13.  The width of the point is the width the plant pot will be.

15. Fold the left hand side top triangle over as in step 13.  It should look like the picture below.

16. Fold over the topmost flap on the right hand side from right to left.

17. Unfold this flap and fold it under

18. Turn over and repeat on other side

19. Gently open the box

20. Fold the top flaps down and into the little pocket

21. Done!
